Being Brazil´s largest energy company, Petrobras has played a huge role in the rapid economic development of Brazil. Petrobras specializes in oil exploration, production, refining, marketing, and transportation. Petrobras is present in 27 countries worldwide.
As one of the main values of Petrobras´ company culture, the management team is always seeking ways to unite its employees and incite pride in the workplace. For the much anticipated 2006 World Cup in Germany, Petrobras wanted to create a program which would allow their employees to go beyond being mere spectators and become more involved in the games. Employees would be able to place their bets on winning teams for a series of dates and countries to end in a competition for a grand prize provided by Petrobras.
Truelogic concluded that the most effective way to set up the execution point of the game would be through a micro site which would, in turn, interact with the Petrobras Intranet. In order to incite employee participation, Truelogic added customizable features that would present corresponding information and quizzes to countries selected for the games. Truelogic both designed and programmed front and back end of the user interface which would be used by over 1,000 Petrobras employees.
